Southern Cross Country Championships Brighton Saturday 28 January
The clubs senior mens team narrown missed retaining the team championship finishing second to Highgate Harriers. Neilson Hall was 6th 49:45, Darren Deed 9th 50:41, Steve Naylor 12th 50:56, Will McKay 38th 53:40, Matt Janes 52nd 54:11 & Huw Lobb 56th 54:24. Stanley Willis was 9th in the U13 boys and the team finished 6th. The under 13 girls were 15th led home by Erin McCaffrey in 30th. The under 15 boys were led home by Jon Janes in 14th the team were 10th. Lauren Russell 13th and Kelly Rodd 15th were well up in the U15 girls race and the team were 8th. Ryan Isaacson led home the U17 men with 6th place the team were just outside the medals in 4th. Rebecca Murray was 5th in the U17 women’s race. In the Uwo mens race Matt Bergin was 11th and the team were 7th. Alice Burgin was 6th in the U20 Women’s race. The full Bedford results can be found here.
Results from the weekend 21/22 January
Jack Goodwin ran in a European permit race in spain and finished 4th in the U20 Men’s race. James Lawler won the Fred Hughes 10 in St Albans in 54:34. Lauren Russell was second in the U15 girls 800m in the South of England indoors at Lee Valley in 2:21.34, Alanah Harris was second in the U17 ladies 1500m 5:00.99

Jack Benedickter competed in the U20 800m 2:07:34, Katies Healy competed in the U17 pentathlon scoring 2025 points (800m 2:46:40, 60H 11.97, HJ 1m41, LJ 3m99 & SP 6m55)
McCain UK Cross Country Challenge, Cardiff, Sunday 15 January
Neilson Hall running for England finished fifth in the Senior Mens race in Cardiff, Steven Naylor was 13th. Katrina Wootton also running for England finished third in the Senior Women’s race. Alice Burgin was 11th in U20 Womens race.
Apex Chiltern Cross Country League, Slough, Saturday 14 January
Natasha Peters won the senior ladies race with Julie Rogers 10th (3rd F35), the team were sixth. Rebecca Murray (U17) led won the U20/U17 ladies race, Alanah Harris (U17) was 8th and Mollie McKenzie (U17) 10th the team were second. Lauren Russell was 4th in the U15 girls race closely followed in by Kelly Rodd in 5th and Sarah Kerr in 10th. Erin MaCaffrey was 6th in the U13 girls race and Becky Ward was 10th. In the U11 girls race Maisie Relton finished 2nd and Francesca Johnson was 7th.
Overall Bedford now lead the league by a small margin over Milton Keynes, we also lead the mens overall category, the seniors overall and young athletes overall categories. You can find full results for the Slough races and the overall positions of individuals and teams on the League website.

Bedfordia Schools Cross Country races, Tuesday 10 January
Many of our young members were racing on Tuesday in a local schools event you can find the results here. Congratulations to Bedford School Girls, Robert Bloomfied Academy and Lincroft who topped the team results (not necessarily in that order).
County Cross Country Championships weekend 7/8 January
As ever our runners were spread over a number of different county championships with the bulk in the Beds champs and a good number in the Cambs. Congratulations to our many champions including Neilson Hall in the Hertfordshire Senior Men’s race.

BUPA Edinburgh Cross Country Races Saturday 7 January
Jack Goodwin finished 9th in the U20M cross country race
Matt Bergin won the Senior Mens race at Slough, he was backed up with top 20 finishes by Chris Drinkwater 5th, James Lawler 7th, Alan Turnbull 13th & Richard Henderson 18th the team (8 to score) won the League match. Alan (2nd) led the masters team to a win with Richard Powell 4th (24th) and Steven Earley 6th (26th). Matt also led the Mens U20 team to victory with Craig Emmerson 3rd (23rd).
Our U17 men won the match with Ryan Isaacson (pictured) 1st , Michael Harrison 2nd ,Matt Bray 4th and Jack Douglas 6th. Jake Barroclough was 3rd in the U15 boys race with Stephen Headley 7th & Andrew Headley 8th, the team were second. William Mullins was 7th in the U13 boys race, the team were fourth. Oliver Davies was 7th in the U11 boys race.
